Our advice
- Pick a class before you look at tiers. Decide whether Assault, Disruptor or Support matches how you like to hunt, then compare Adventurers inside that class. A B-tier pick you enjoy will often serve you better than an S-tier pick you do not.
- Treat this edition as a day-one judgment. We have not played the live game yet, so the ranking reflects the official kit only. We will mark which placements change once real hunts are in.
How we rank Monster Hunter Outlanders Adventurers, step by step
-
Start from the official roster
Our list covers the 13 Adventurers shown on the official site, split across three classes: Assault, Disruptor and Support. Weapon types come from the App Store listing, which names 8 at launch. We do not use leaks, datamines or screenshots with no clear source.

Score each Adventurer on three criteria
Squad value comes first. Hunts are built for a squad of four, and the Co-Op Skill runs on one shared energy pool that only pays off when the squad hits the same monster part. We score it for two cases. Solo, you control one Adventurer and three more fight beside you as automatically controlled squadmates, so we ask what those three AI squadmates add. Online, we expect each player to control their own Adventurer, but that is not confirmed yet. Safety and forgiveness asks how much a mistake costs; since every Adventurer has Perfect Evade, we judge what the kit adds on top of it. Reliable damage rewards damage you can deliver on most hunts, not only in ideal conditions.

Turn scores into tiers
S means we recommend the Adventurer for almost any team or mode. A is strong but needs the right team or a specific condition. B works well, yet another Adventurer of the same class does the job better. C fits a narrow playstyle or a particular hunt. Every placement carries a short written reason.

Re-check after every update
The game version sits at the top of the list, and this edition is built on version 1.0.9. When the version changes, we review the affected kits before moving anyone. Each rise or drop goes into the changelog with the Adventurer, the old tier, the new tier and the reason.

Where people get stuck
Reading a low tier as unusable
A C placement means a narrower job, not a broken kit. If an Adventurer suits the way you play, take it into hunts and judge it yourself.
Assuming every squad plays the same way
Squad value assumes teammates who follow up on the same monster part when a Co-Op Skill starts. If your group rarely coordinates, give Safety and forgiveness and Reliable damage more weight.
Treating the day-one list as final
This edition is a paper read of the official kit. Expect placements to shift once live play shows how kits hold up, and check the changelog before you invest in a pick.
What day-one means for this list
Monster Hunter Outlanders opened on all servers at once on October 28, 2026 at 22:00 UTC (October 29 in Asia). This edition went up just before that, so it rests on what TiMi Studio Group and Capcom have published: the roster on the official site, the App Store listing for version 1.0.9, the official adventure guide and the official YouTube videos, including the launch preview and the weapon overviews. Where those are silent, we add closed beta reports from other players, marked as such. We read each kit and judge it on paper. That gives you a starting point for choosing an Adventurer in the first days. It cannot tell you how a kit feels against a real monster, and we do not claim it does.
Some parts of the game suit a paper read. Sharpness on melee weapons does not run down when you attack, so no whetstones are needed and we do not mark melee picks down for upkeep. Other parts need live hunts, such as how often a squad actually lands its Co-Op Skill on the same monster part.
What would make us move an Adventurer
- A patch that changes a kit, a skill or the way a weapon behaves.
- Live play showing that a kit is safer, riskier or harder to use than its description suggests.
- Ecological Rank. Monsters grow stronger as the adventure goes on, so a kit that looks fine early can fall behind later, or the reverse.
- New Adventurers joining the roster and pushing an existing pick down within its class.
We do not move anyone because of hype or a single clip. Each change goes into the changelog with its reason.
How to read a tier for your own team
Open our tier list and find your class first. If you are new, the best Adventurers for beginners list applies the same tiers with forgiveness in mind. Then think about your squad. If you hunt solo, the question is which three AI squadmates cover what the Adventurer you control lacks, such as a shield or a team buff; the Monster Hunter Outlanders best team page builds full squads that way. If you hunt with friends who agree on which part to hit, Squad value matters more and a strong Support pick earns its place. If you mostly join random groups, lean on Safety and forgiveness. The game offers two control modes, Adventure Mode and Classic Mode; our tiers judge the kit, not the control scheme. Weapons get their own ranking on the Monster Hunter Outlanders weapon tier list, scored with the same rules. Last, check the version at the top of the list before you spend anything on a pick.
How we rank Monster Hunter Outlanders Adventurers: FAQ
How is the Monster Hunter Outlanders tier list ranked?
We score each of the 13 official Adventurers on Squad value, Safety and forgiveness, and Reliable damage, using only the published kit. Those scores set the S, A, B and C tiers, and each placement has a written reason.
Is this tier list based on real gameplay?
Not our own. The day-one edition comes from official class, weapon and skill information published before launch, plus a few closed beta reports from other players that two sources agree on. Servers opened on October 28, 2026 at 22:00 UTC (October 29 in Asia), and now that the game is live we will add hands-on notes.
How often is the tier list updated?
We review it every time the game version changes, and also when live play shows a kit behaving differently from its official description. Every move is dated and explained in the changelog.
Why can a Support Adventurer rank above an Assault pick?
Squad value is one of our three criteria. Hunts are built around a squad of four that shares one Co-Op Skill energy pool, whether the other three are AI squadmates or, as we expect online, other players. A kit that helps three teammates can be worth more than extra personal damage.
Do you use leaks or datamines?
No. Most facts we rank from trace back to the official site, official news posts, official YouTube videos or the App Store listing. Where the official material is silent, such as who receives Arkaya's shield, we state a closed beta report as fact only when two independent sources agree. A report from a single source is labeled as one tester's report.
Is the ranking the same on every server?
The launch servers are North America, Japan and Europe, with no cross-region squads or character transfers. We publish one list for all three. If a server gets a different roster or balance change, we will note it on the list.
