About this data
- How we collected it
- We went through the official site, each single-monster Monster Info post on the official X account, Monster Info Compilations 1 to 5, and the official launch broadcasts. For every monster we noted which official sources mention it. The English and Japanese versions of one post count as a single source. Player screenshots, data mining and third-party lists are not used.
- Sample
- 23 monsters, drawn from 1 page of the official site, a set of official X posts and 2 official launch broadcasts.
- Time range
- September 21, 2025 (Radiant Rathalos at Tokyo Game Show 2025) to November 1, 2026 (Compilation 5), version 1.0.9.
- Limits
-
- The game may hold more monsters than official sources have named so far. We cannot see a full in-game monster count, so 23 is a floor, not a total.
- A 1 official source label does not mean a monster is in doubt. One official mention is enough to list it; there is just no second mention yet.
- Nergigante shows up in a single official post from before launch. Launch material has not mentioned it, so its row keeps the Pre-launch post only label.
- Weaknesses, drops and locations have not been published officially, so the table leaves them out.
Our take
- Radiant monsters fill 15 of the 23 slots, and any of them can go berserk mid-hunt. On paper, the first thing worth learning on each new Radiant target is what that berserk shift looks like, so the squad is not caught off guard. This is a day-one read of the official description, not a tested tip.
- Kushala Daora gets its own slaying quest from November 13 to November 26 (UTC). We would spend the days before November 13 leveling a squad, so the event window goes to the hunt itself. That is a plan on paper, built only on the official dates.
The monster list at a glance
Official sources have named 23 monsters so far. Fifteen are Radiant monsters. Three are Elder Dragons: Ruger Aidal, Kushala Daora and Nergigante. Three are standard monsters: Rathalos, Diablos and Odogaron. The last two are subspecies, Pink Rathian and Black Diablos.
Nothing here comes from player footage or fan lists. A monster makes the table only when the official site, an official X Monster Info post or Compilation, or an official launch broadcast names it. Each row then gets one of three labels:
- 2+ official sources: two or more separate official sources mention it. Seven monsters have this. An English post and its Japanese twin count once.
- 1 official source: a single official mention. That is enough to treat the monster as fact; we just have no second mention to point to. Fifteen monsters sit here.
- Pre-launch post only: named once before launch and not since. Only Nergigante has this label.
For how the Adventurers who fight these monsters rank, see the monster hunter outlanders tier list.
Radiant monsters
Radiant monsters make up most of the list, 15 of 23. A Radiant monster looks different, fights with changed abilities, hits harder and acts more aggressively. It can also go berserk in the middle of a hunt.
Radiant Rathalos was the first one players could touch: the official account let Tokyo Game Show 2025 visitors try it. On February 12, 2026, the official account named four Radiant monsters together: Radiant Rathalos, Radiant Diablos, Radiant Anjanath and Radiant Rathian. The other eleven came later, through the official site and Compilations 1 to 5.
The official launch broadcast also explained Radiant Hunt. The Radiant monsters in it rotate each week, and every rotation names recommended Adventurers that earn bonus rewards.
Elder Dragons
Of the three Elder Dragons, only Ruger Aidal is new to the series: an original creation for this game, discovered on Aesoland. It turns the radiant particles on its body into hard armor and uses that armor to attack as well as defend. Drawing more particles in from its surroundings gives its attacks extra force. The launch countdown on October 28, 2026 announced its arrival, and the launch broadcast presented it as the original Elder Dragon.
Kushala Daora keeps everything away with a coat of wind, and hard metal scales cover its whole body. The official account first named it on May 8, 2026. Its special slaying quest, When Steelwing Descends, runs from November 13 to November 26, 2026 (UTC), according to the official launch broadcasts.
Nergigante is the open case. An official post named it before launch, describing an Elder Dragon that shows up wherever other Elder Dragons appear. Launch material has not mentioned it, so we do not list it as in the game.
How we keep this list current
Each new official Monster Info Compilation adds rows, and a second official mention moves a monster up to 2+ official sources. Player screenshots and data mining stay out. Our monster hunter outlanders elements table covers the Adventurer side, and monster hunter outlanders version 1.0.9 tracks what shipped at launch.
